Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is my Dad's 63rd birthday! I am very thankful for my Daddy. We have not always seen eye to eye, but probably because we are both hard headed. We have worked through SO much throughout my teenager and adult years. I was the only one in our family that would tell him how I felt. Sometimes in a not so nice tone of voice. (Which got me in more trouble!) But, all those "lovely discussions" developed the relationship we have now. I love going to eat lunch with my Daddy. It is fun to laugh and be silly because that is who we are together! Which my mom thinks is too much sometimes. Hee hee! I am thankful that he has lived to see another wonderful year. There for several years we did not know how many lay ahead. He was a very sick man who has overcome many challenges. We are very thankful to the Mighty Healer and One and Only God for letting Daddy live for more years than he thought he would see. I hope he had a great party tonight. Happy birthday Daddy! I love you a bushel and peck and a hug around the neck!

New addiction

Ok- I just have to say I never wanted to get addicted to anything ever! But, I think I am addicted to two things reading and Facebook. Oh my! I just finished my 19th book in 3 and half months. Now, I can't wait to get my hands on another Karen Kingsbury book. About Facebook...my word it is ridiculous. I have my e-mail up and running ALL day everyday. That way I can see if Jason or one of the teachers e-mails me. Not that I sit and stare at it, but I can pass by and glance at it! Well, my inbox keeps FILLING up with Facebook stuff. Now let me tell you it is fun, but I can't get anything done! I have caught back up with friends I have not heard from since high school. You can IM each other, write quick messages on their "wall", give your status updates, etc... I might need therapy to wean myself off of the computer. Hee hee! If you have an account and I don't know send me a request...happy messaging!

Hello bloggy friends. Not much is going on around here. I just wanted to check in and make sure everyone is staying well. I stayed pretty busy yesterday catching up on laundry! 7 loads washed, dried, and put away! The rest of the week will be pretty busy..unless we get bad weather. We will see!Have a good day.

Oh, boy! Are you plugged in?

Yep- that's right... Are you plugged in? Jake came home yesterday with a green slip from P.E.! Not good for those of you that don't know. I asked him what he did to get that..."I stuck my finger in the plug on the wall". "YIKES!!! Jake, do you know that can really hurt you?" "Ummmm..yes I do now". "Did the P.E. coach tell you that?" "No, you did." UGH! It really bothers me that he is such a follower. He has to learn the hard way sometimes. He is so funny about following rules once he knows them. But, if it is a unknown rule and looks fun...he will go for it! Never mind common sense. I just hope we can provide him with enough knowledge that he will know when to follow others and when NOT to the older he gets!
This is a prayer request... we are really try to buy a house! So, in this savings period we get to eat beans and rice often. Ha ha! No really...we have a few medical bills to pay off and try to save for a house too. Please pray that we will be able to this with a Godly attitude and remember the wonderful things ahead. Things keep coming up and our money has to leave savings!!!! Jason had a expensive computer issue with his truck. We thought it was covered under warranty and then not, and then yes..But it is NOT covered. That is a lovely chunk of money. I am staying at home this year. I do not help bring home any income right now. So,I am trying very hard to be frugal and not waste any money. Awww..this is very hard sometimes! So, please pray for patience and willpower to stay on task to meet our future goals.

Aww..Good day!

Let me just say I finally feel better! We slept in today and lounged around all morning. The kids had fun entertaining Jolie. They will make great babysitters on day. :)
Jason made soup with venison (Liz, we use it at our house too) for supper. Then, he went fishing with some of his friends. Jaelynn went to a friend's house to play for a couple of hours this afternoon. Jake, Jolie and I went to Walmart. After we got home and unloaded groceries. I took Jolie with a full tummy over to my parents. So, Jake and I could have a date to the park.
It felt so good to

play tag,

slide,

do a funky dance,

pose,

swing (do you love the orange Fanta mustache?),

and see-saw (he wanted to move on after this move because he said it hurt too bad)!

We had the best time together!!! I loved having that one on one time with my only little guy. It lets you enjoy every laugh, conversation, and personality. I love you buddy!

Eeeekkkk......

Eeekkkk........I thought I would be feeling great by now. I am feeling better, but not GREAT! All 3 kiddos were out of sort today too. My sister-in-law and
I just talked about how kids are kids and you do NOT have perfect days. Well, today is my not so perfect day. I think I held it together pretty well. BUT- I sent Big sis to bed early with no cuddling, books, or dessert. (We did hug, kiss, and say I love you.) This is truly not like her. She was whiny, not listening, and I don't know just plain hyper!!! So, I checked on her in about 5 minutes she was out. Tired maybe? Jolie is not eating good. Probably because she was off schedule today and had lots of distractions this evening. Jake- well he was pretty good after he got food in his belly. Before that oh boy was he just lovely to be around. I don't know about any of your kids, but mine need food to function properly. :) Well, I hear Jolie up and NOT asleep again...off to check on her. Good night. Hopefully with a little sleep, we will all be great tomorrow.

Ugh!!! and Laughter

Ugh!!! I do not feel good. My throat is closing up and I can not breathe! I went to the doctor yesterday. I had never been to this doctor before and she was really nice. I loved that she was concerned, just as much as I was, about the medicines going in my body being passed on to Jolie. She printed out a whole booklet on medicines you can take while breastfeeding. So, now I have had 3 antibiotic pills and three ibuprofen since yesterday afternoon. And- I am still feeling YUCK! You know I wanted immediate results. :)
Enough about me.... The most precious sound came from our baby Jolie last night. She laughed SO hard at me. Oh, it was too cute. :) She has been trying to for a couple of days, but nothing like this. You know I truly loved and treasured each thing my other blessings did, but I don't remember us just marveling at each moment. ALL 4 of us just watch her and praise God for every little smile, roll over, laugh, etc. It is too cute how Jaelynn and Jake are just as proud as we are. I am SO blessed for a wonderful family. I think I am going to try to take a nap this morning while Jolie is snoozing so hard. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...............

Walk like an Egyptian

Here is a picture of our Little Egyptian girl. My mom made her dress. My sister and I braided Jaelynn's hair for a hour and a half Wednesday night after church. She went to school with the braids in a ponytail. She was very embarrassed and wore a hood over it most the day. It took me 30 minutes to undo all the braids for it to be wavy. But, she sure did look pretty for her Egypt museum at school tonight. They have learned and made alot of really cool things. We are very proud of you sweet girl!

Here is a recent picture of Jolie. I had to take her to the doctor today. She has an infected tear duct. It looked awful this morning! So, the wonderful doctor gave us a sample of $100 eye drops. Thank you for saving us that much money! She weighed 11lbs 8 1/2oz. She really is growing. :) Also, she achieved a milestone today......she rolled over! Yeah Jolie!

3 precious months...and 18 wonderful years!

Happy new year to all! The big kids went back to school today. So, it is kinda of quiet around here to say the least. Our sweet baby Jolie is 3 months today. We can't believe time has flown by so quickly. She is cooing all the time, smiling from ear to ear, and trying to roll from back to tummy. Wow-alot happens in just a short time frame.
And, for those of you who don't know, today is mine and Jason's dating anniversary. Hee hee! I know why keep up with that. Right? But, it is fun to go back to that sweet day when we started this whole joy ride. Let me just fill you in on how we met.....it all started 18 years ago my freshman year (in high school :) ). Jason was a senior and oohhh did I think he was SO cute. We became friends just talking on the phone and he would come over with one of his friends. My goodness I was only 14!! I was not supposed to date until I was 16. Well, I turned 15 in December of 1990 and my parents really liked Jason. So, on January 5th of 1991 I got to go on a date and ride in his truck to a TJC basketball game. We were leaving the game and a mutual friend said, " Hey man is that your girl?" And, Jason replied yes. Oh my did I get excited!!!!! We were walking down the sidewalk and he asked if I had heard him. I said yes! Then he asked, " Well, do you want to be?" Yippeeeeeeee.........that is how I became his girl.
