Ta Da!!!

Hello out there! I know some of you have wondered where I have been lately. Well, Ta da, I am back! We have been way too busy. Haven't I posted that before? :0
Jason and Jake got to attend the College World Series games to cheer on TCU in Ohama, Nebraska. Jason's brother,Todd, was an assistant coach for TCU. Now he has been hired as University of Houston's HEAD coach. We are so excited for him.

Jaelynn and I went to camp earlier in the summer. It was her first camp experience and it was a BLAST! She loved it and seemed so grown up. We were the B-L-U-E team!!!

We went on vacation with the whole family to Hot Springs,AR. That was an adventure as always when you take my Dad. Ha ha! We got a new pool liner and LOVE swimming!!!! Jake lost both top front teeth. I always think that is one of the funniest stages they go through. Jolie is growing up too fast. She is sleeping in her big girl bed and doing wonderful! The other two would always get up and come to our room. Jolie just lays in her bed and talks.

We are in our first year of homeschooling. We are all very excited and we are really enjoying it. I will post a little more about this topic later in the week. Yes, you heard me right. I really would like to post at least twice a week to let people know what is going on over here. I have had several people ask why I have not blogged in awhile. Sorry. I will do better. :) I will leave you with a few more pictures from this summer:

TWO BIG EVENTS!!!!

Not that one event is more important than the other, but I just have to start with.....Yes, you read that right! Welcome Poppa Jerry!
Mom had bought Daddy balloons for the mailbox. Jill tied them on...Well, she thought she tied them on. :) They ended up here....
4 out of 5 grandbabies waiting on their Poppa.
Oh, oh, who could it be?
It is POPPA!!!!!

His first requested lunch at home was a bologna sandwich.
The next big event is our Jaker's birthday! He has woke up early everyday that he could sleep in, but on his birthday he woke up at 8:30. The funny thing about that is... that is the time he was born!

Excitement in the Air!

Daddy's birthday was last Sunday and we got to celebrate with him! I know that sounds weird to some because you usually do celebrate with that person. In December we did not know if he would make it day to day much less celebrate his 64th birthday!!!!! The celebration was not as planned because he ended up having an infection in his colon that is extremely contagious. The kids could not be around him and we could not bring food in the room. At this point we did not care we were just glad he was here with us! So, the kids came up and ate cake in the lounge. Then, they waved at him in the hallway. Here are some pictures from that day:Also, some other great news....he has gotten out of the bed and taken a few steps (with assistance of course)!!! God is good all the time!

Me Too.

I used to cringe as my Daddy would say those words to me. I wondered why he would tell everyone else he loved them, but he would say Me too only to me. I got kind of used to those words after awhile. I would occasionally make him say I love you just for me to hear it out of his mouth. Then, he got so sick. How I longed to hear Me too again! A week ago they put a talking piece in his trach. He has been very confused since he had been sedated for 70 plus days! We never know what will come out of his mouth. He proudly told me that Mom was pregnant!!!!! He was SO EXCITED about this news and could not wait to tell me. Ha ha! We had a great laugh over that news. We began to hear I love you all over again even to me. But, I knew that he was just saying it back to me and that was not him yet. He told Jaelynn and I to watch out because a gorilla was coming. Mom said they were having a zoo seminar at the hospital today. (all according to Daddy) Then, last night he seemed to be more himself more often than not. He was calling Jaelynn and Jolie by their name and nicknames. Which it is always interesting to see how Jolie will react to him. She is slowly warming up to all the machines and tubes. As we were saying our goodbyes I told Daddy I loved him like I always do. He smiled really big and said ME TOO!!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!!! I lit up like a Christmas tree and was SO THRILLED to hear those beautiful words again! So, slowly on his 80th day in the hospital our Daddy is fighting his way back to reality with all the pain and physical therapy still yet to come. Please continue to lift him up in prayer he has a long process still to go, but God is still continuing to work in his situation.

I'm BACK!!!!

Hello friends! I have missed you. I know it has been a loooonnngggg time since I have blogged. I have been to my breaking point and just now feeling like myself again. December was ROUGH at the Carlile house. Here are a few moments worth sharing:
1. We packed like crazy people getting ready for our move.
2. We closed on our house.
3. We moved! The day we were moving the school called and said Jake had thrown up in his class. So, poor baby had to drive back and forth between houses with a Wal-Mart sack.
4. Still visiting Daddy in ICU during all this. Which we almost lost him at least once. They called us in and all the signs were there that we were losing him. I gave him to God and had peace if he was going home to be with Jesus. When we got to the hospital all his functions were coming back. THANK YOU GOD for another chance to spend time with my Daddy!!!!
5. Jaelynn and I got really sick. We stayed in bed for 2 days.
6. Jason and the big kids were in a Christmas Eve program at church. It was amazing.
7. It snowed!!!!
8. Mom spent Christmas Eve with us this year. Sad, but so joyful at the same time.
9. We celebrated Jesus' Birthday. Thank you God for sending your Son for us!
10. We finally got a dog, Camo, after several YEARS of begging.
That recaps December for you. I will end it with some pictures and I will post about January and give you an update on my Dad soon.

Breakfast with Santa at school

Trying to get a good Christmas picture of the kids. It would have been really cute if Goofball Jake would not have made that silly face!
